Byron Minnesota Deceased Person Identified
On Monday, July 17, 2023, an Olmsted County Sheriff's Deputy received information from a concerned citizen of the Byron, Minnesota community. The information was that a suspicious noise around the Byron City Hall area was heard in the overnight hours of July 7. Upon being advised of this information, deputies immediately responded to this area and began a search. A deceased adult male was located in the retention pond area behind City Hall. Olmsted County Sheriff's Office Investigators, along with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Rochester Police Department, and the Southeast Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, responded to the scene and began an investigation.
Investigators from our office continue working on this case, and on Tuesday, July 18, they were present when an autopsy was performed. The Medical Examiner's Office identified the deceased as Wade Andrew Gordon Jr., a 39-year-old male from Rochester, Minn.
Mr. Gordon was reported missing to the Rochester Police Department on July 8. He was last seen in Byron, MN leaving his place of employment on July 7. The Sheriff's Office is investigating this incident and asking the public for any information they may have to help in the investigation.
Last and certainly not least, our condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Gordon. Their loss should be on everyone's minds as we work to find answers to their loss.
