Olmsted County Board of Commissioner Meetings
Olmsted County residents are always welcome to join county board meetings and speak during the public comment portion of the meeting. A county board meeting calendar is available on our public website. Residents are welcome to join these meetings in person, via phone, or virtually to provide public comments.
Contact your Olmsted County commissioners
If you ever have any questions or concerns as a resident of Olmsted County and would like to contact one or more county commissioners (or the specific Olmsted County commissioner for your district), you are encouraged to do so!
County commissioners hear from constituents on a number of different issues, but some popular topics tend to be about property taxes, land use, and elections. If commissioners don’t have the answer to your question, it will be routed to the appropriate subject matter expert or county department to answer.

Mobilizing Olmsted Voices for Equity (M.O.V.E.) community council
Residents can engage with the county by applying to join our M.O.V.E. community council. M.O.V.E. is comprised of passionate individuals committed to effecting positive change. It serves as a vital link, ensuring diverse voices in our community are not only heard but actively engaged in shaping county policies and programs, with an early emphasis on public health-related topics.
Community events
Olmsted County representatives are often available to chat with residents at various community events such as Rochester's Thursdays Downtown, the Olmsted County Fair, Juneteenth celebration, Safe City Nights, Good Neighbor Days, Welcoming Week Community Resource Fair, Rochesterfest, and IMAA Walk Around the World. We encourage county residents to join in on these events and learn more about county programs and services.

Olmsted County is always seeking volunteers to serve as members of advisory boards and commissions.

Olmsted County offers many volunteer opportunities – whether it’s volunteering in our parks, as a driver, in our adult detention center, adopt-a-highway, medical reserves corps, helping victims of sexual assault, and serving as Victim Witness Assistance Program advocates.
