New video! Building strong families with Olmsted County’s Family Home Visiting Program
Community safety and well-being is a strategic priority for Olmsted County. Through our Family Home Visiting Program, we connect parents and caregivers with the resources, guidance, and support they need to raise healthy, thriving children.
Our new video – Building strong families with Olmsted County’s Family Home Visiting Program – highlights the personalized care and support provided by our public health nurses. These professionals work one-on-one with families, building relationships that help parents track their child's development, access community resources, and provide reassurance during challenging times.
In the video, you’ll learn more about:
- How the Home Visiting Program helps parents track their child's developmental progress through the Ages and Stages Questionnaire.
- The variety of community resources available to families, including Women Infants and Children (WIC) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and how the program helps families access them.
- The role of public health nurses in providing emotional support and guidance, especially to those experiencing postpartum depression or adjusting to a new culture.
