Olmsted County Housing Stability Team honored
Congratulations to the Olmsted County Housing Stability Team on receiving the 2022 Community Service Award from the Zumbro Valley Medical Society (ZVMS).
ZVMS is a nonprofit professional membership organization serving 3,000 physicians and physicians in training in Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, and Olmsted Counties. ZVMS promotes the health and health care of communities in Southeast Minnesota through advocacy, service, and education.
The Community Service Award is given to a non-physician who has shown leadership and quantifiable results in elevating the general health of the community.
The Olmsted County Housing Stability Team was recognized for this award for the team’s:
- Willingness to participate in educating ZVMS members on issues affecting unsheltered individuals.
- Commitment to serving the underserved in our community.
- Nonjudgmental and inclusive approach to caring for and serving members of our community.
- Outstanding collaboration with the Street Medicine Initiative and ZVMS.
“Over the last several years, the Olmsted County Housing Stability Team has been able to expand its outreach to people experiencing homelessness, and part of that is because of the great partnership we have with Zumbro Valley Medical Society Street Medicine,” said Olmsted County Housing Program Manager Mary O’Neil. “We are grateful for this recognition and the hard work of the medical providers and medical students.”
The award was presented to the team during the virtual ZVMS annual meeting on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
