Effective July 17, 2023, Tiffany Canfield is working as Olmsted County’s new Veteran Services manager. The Olmsted County Veteran Services team assists residents who have served in the U.S. armed forces. They help veterans secure benefits for transportation, mental health, and chemical dependency services. They also help veterans and their family members access medical, retirement, and education benefits. As manager, Tiffany is overseeing all of this work and providing leadership to two county veteran service officers.
Tiffany served eight years in the U.S. Army with deployments to Honduras as well as Manas Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She also brings a wealth of experience in human services to this position. Tiffany is licensed in both social work and as an alcohol and drug counselor, previously working on the Dodge & Olmsted County (D&O) Community Corrections team.
In this position, Tiffany will be reporting directly to Olmsted County Division Administrator for Health, Housing, and Human Services James Johnson.
“We were impressed with Tiffany's commitment to lifelong learning and her passion for serving people and the veteran community,” said James. “Tiffany will bring energy, creativity, and a driven perspective to this role. This will go a long way toward our vision of building on the remarkable successes of the Veteran Services team and outreach to the veteran community.”
“Although I’ve been working in the field of corrections and substance use/mental health for the past several years, it’s always been a passion of mine to serve the veteran community,” explained Tiffany. “I’m looking forward to connecting with the veterans of Olmsted County, community partners, and other county employees. I am fully committed to this community and the veterans who reside here and plan to do everything in my power to ensure no veteran goes unseen and all veterans receive the assistance, benefits, and support that they have earned.”
