Future development updates
- Exhibition center
The Graham Park Exhibition Center is set for construction in August 2025 and is being supported with $8 million in state funds and $26.5 million in local contributions. The center will include a 46,000-square-foot show arena and a 16,500-foot practice arena, designed to host a variety of activities such as livestock shows, trade shows, conventions, concerts and other entertainment events, and various community gatherings. Its flexible design allows for a concrete floor or a dirt setup to accommodate specialized events. In November 2024, an open house provided an opportunity for the Olmsted County Fair Board, Olmsted County Board of Commissioners, and 4-H families to learn about the project and offer feedback. Frequently asked questions (FAQs) developed from this session will continue to evolve as the project progresses, with updates and new information added over time. Exterior restoration on the former Highway Department building is set to begin in spring 2025 and should be completed by the end of summer 2025. This phase includes a new roof, tuckpointing (process of removing and replacing old mortar from joints), and the restoration of windows and doors. Interior renovations will be considered in the 2026 budget. - Program support plaza
The program support plaza, which will function primarily as a parking area near the exhibition center, will also accommodate events such as Christmas markets and equestrian trailers. Construction is scheduled to begin alongside the exhibition center in 2026. - Activity pad
A new activity pad, located on the land of the former grandstand, will feature a versatile concrete surface suitable for events like autocross and derbies. The design allows for easy application and removal of dirt, making it adaptable for year-round events. This pad is part of the larger Graham Commons project and will be constructed in tandem with the exhibition center in 2026. - Exterior work on Graham Park arenas
The exteriors of Graham Arena One – Presented by Mayo Clinic and Graham Arena Two are set to undergo a facelift!- Graham Arena One – Presented by Mayo Clinic: Renovation work will begin in spring 2025 and is expected to be completed by July 2025. This includes updates to exterior walls, doors, and roofs.
- Graham Arena Two: A new roof will be installed during the same timeframe.
