Olmsted County Board of Commissioners declines action on development proposals for former Seneca property

At the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners meeting on April 15, 2025, the board held a closed session to discuss development proposals for the former Seneca Foods property adjacent to Graham Park. Olmsted County had issued the call for development interest requests on February 21, 2025. 

Two proposals were reviewed and discussed by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners in the closed session on April 15. 

“After careful evaluation, the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners will not be pursuing either development proposal,” stated Olmsted County Board Chair Mark Thein. “We determined that neither proposal was in the best interest of the community. To both entities that submitted development proposals, we thank you for your interest.”

Olmsted County does not have any further plans for the property at this time.
