Media Release: Warrant fugitive Jesse James Johnson
On February 10, 2023, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office was advised that warrant fugitive Jesse James Johnson (Dec. 16, 1983) was arrested in Worth County, Iowa. Limited information at this point indicates law enforcement attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Johnson and he fled the officers. A short time later he was taken into custody and is still in custody pending court proceedings on new charges related to that incident.
The investigations in Olmsted County are open and continuing. A current case for assault is being reviewed by the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office at this time. When Johnson is available for release from Worth County proceedings, the extradition process will begin to return him to Olmsted County.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the local media and citizens for sharing information in our attempt to locate Johnson.
