Olmsted County Public Works is announcing the following utility work beginning September 19, 2022 in Byron

Utility work on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 5 (2nd Ave NW) requires a road closure near the railroad tracks on CSAH 5 starting Monday, September 19, 2022.

Work is anticipated to be completed by Monday, September 26, 2022. A local detour will be posted using 2nd Street NW, Byron Ave N, and 4th Street NW, and a truck detour will be posted using Trunk Highway 14, CSAH 3, and CSAH 4 while the work is being completed. Both detours are shown on the map below.

DeCook Excavating is the prime contractor for completing the utility work for the City of Byron.

Motorists should expect delays and seek alternative routes.

Reminder: Motorists are reminded to always drive with caution, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. Please reduce your speed and proceed with caution through these work zones.
