Roadway work along CSAH 4 (Valleyhigh Rd NW) and CSAH 44 (60 Ave NW) between CSAH 44 and CR 158
Roadway construction work for the new alignment of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 4 began mid-September 2022 along CSAH 4, CSAH 44 and 34th St NW. The project will be constructed in multiple stages, with Stage 1 being constructed in 2022.
Stage 1 consists of grading a new alignment for CSAH 4 (Valleyhigh Rd NW), construction of a roundabout at the intersection of CSAH 4/44, and installation of drainage structures and embankment on CSAH 44 (60th Ave NW) from Gatehouse south to CSAH 4 (Valleyhigh Road NW).
Stage 2 work will continue in 2023 with the reconstruction of CSAH 44 (60th Ave NW) to approximately 1500’ north of 55th St NW.
As part of Stage 1, a roadway closure for 34th Street NW between 70th Ave NW and CSAH 44 (60th Ave NW) will be put in place on September 27th as shown on map below, no official detour will be provided for this closure.
Fitzgerald Excavating and Trucking, Inc. is the prime contractor for the $19,500,000 regrading/reconstruction project.
Motorists should expect delays and seek alternative routes.
